Gamma Iota Sigma

Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS) is an insurance society open to all Belk College of Business students that are interested in a career in insurance.  On February 27, 2003 the National Chapter chartered Alpha Tau, the GIS chapter at UNCCharlotte.  GIS members and faculty of the risk management and insurance program work together to provide networking opportunities, career development, speakers from the insurance industry, and employment opportunities in risk management and insurance for students of the Belk College of Business.

( !!! ) All students wishing to sign up for job and internship interviews on Career Day must complete the Career Center Orientation either on the scheduled date during the January 18th GIS meeting or on their own at least 2 weeks before this event.  You also must prepare and submit your resume (download the approved resume template here) to Career Services to participate in job interviews and e-mail it to Faith Neale at frneale@uncc.edu for posting on the risk management and insurance website. 

Membership in Gamma Iota Sigma-Alpha Tau is very affordable with an initial annual membership fee of $45 for the first year and then $5 per year thereafter.   If you are interested in joining GIS please complete the membership application (download here) and return it to Tom Marshall, GIS advisor, with a check in the amount of $45 made payable to Gamma Iota Sigma.  You may drop it off at his office or place it in his mailbox in the Finance Department mailroom or leave it with the Department Coordinator in room 349.
