Faith Neale Assistant Professor of Risk Management and Insurance

Faith Neale joined the Belk College in 2004. She earned her Ph.D. in Risk Management and Insurance from Florida State University with a minor in Finance. Prior to her graduate studies, she worked at Kemper National Insurance Companies and Nationwide Insurance Company. She recently served as research consultant for the Governor’s Select Task Force on Healthcare Professional Liability Insurance for the state of Florida. She has served as a referee for the Journal of Insurance Issues. She belongs to several professional organizations including the American Risk and Insurance Association, the Southern Risk and Insurance Association, and the Financial Management Association.

Tom Marshall Lecturer, Risk Management and Insurance

Tom Marshall joined the Belk College in 2005.  He earned a Bachelors degree from Wake Forest University and a Masters of Business Administration with a major in insurance from the Wharton School of Finance of the University of Pennsylvania.  During his insurance career, he served as the Regional Vice President of Auto-Owners Insurance Company with responsibility for the states of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.  He also chaired the Governing Committee of the North Carolina Rate Bureau and served on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Beach and Fair Plans and the South Carolina Beach Plan.  He holds the CPCU, CLU and CIC professional designations, and he has been active on the NC CIC Advisory Committee, the Southeastern Insurance Institute, the NC Insurance News Service and the Central Carolina CPCU Chapter. He is a co-author of the Insurance Institute of America textbook, Principles of Insurance Production, and he authored a monthly technical column for the Carolina Independent Agent’s Journal for 20 years.
