Steven H. Ott John Crosland, Sr., Distinguished Professor of Real Estate and Development

Dr. Ott joined the Belk College faculty in 1999. He received his Ph.D. in finance and economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1992. Dr. Ott's primary teaching responsibilities include real estate development and finance, and his academic research focuses on topics such as the economics of real estate markets, valuation, mortgage-backed securities, and applications of real option pricing to real estate development decisions. His articles have appeared in journals such as the, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Financial Management, Journal of Banking and Finance, Real Estate Economics and the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics. He has also served as a consultant to many investment banking, real estate advisory and real estate development firms.
